The Wine: 100% Nebbiolo has been used for the wine. Classic vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with skin maceration for 15 days, followed by storage in large French oak barrels for 36 months. Vintage 2018 has been awarded a gold medal in the prestigious wine competition Mundus vini.
The story behind Truffle Hunter Barolo is a love story between Valter Bosio, owner of the Bosio winery in the village of Santo Stefano Belbo in Piedmont, and his dear truffle dogs. Already as a six-year-old he was out on his first truffle hunt, and since then it is his greatest passion, as well as making quality wine, which he happily serves to the noble truffle – once he finds it.
Taste and food pairing: Aroma and taste of dried rosehips, dried cherries, oak, leather, chocolate, hazelnuts and spices in an elegant and characterful style with good length and depth.
Serve Truffle Hunter Barolo with grilled lamb or beef, well-cooked hard cheese, or with a tasty truffle risotto.
Serve at 16-18°C. Decanting the wine before serving is recommended, letting it aerate for about 30 minutes.
