The Wine: Booster Wine Group, based in Hastings, Hawke's Bay, combines traditional craftsmanship with modern wine production. They own and collaborate with vineyards in Hawke's Bay, Marlborough and Nelson, where they grow Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Syrah. The company focuses on terroir-driven wines with balance and character and exports to over 40 countries. Brands include Sileni Estates, Awatere River and Gravity Winery. In total, it has over 350 hectares of vineyards.
The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay from the producer's vineyards in Hawke's Bay. 8% of the wine has been aged for five months in one-year-old French 228 l barrels, the remaining 92% has been aged in steel tanks on its lees for about 2 months before filtration.
Taste and food pairing: Elegant and fruity with hints of citrus, green apples, lightly roasted notes and a creamy texture from the oak barrel maturation. Goes well with fish and seafood, as well as with a varied buffet and grilled foods.
