Producer: Bodegas Felix Lavaque

Origin: Salta, Cafayate, Argentina

The Wine: The grapes were harvested by hand from the producer's own vineyards located in the Cafayate valley in Salta. The Malbec grapes used for this wine comes from the vineyard "Cabra Corral", planted in 1975 and located at an altitude of 1750 meters above sea level – one of the world's highest located vineyards. The high altitude combined with the cooler climate gives a longer maturation for the grapes, giving an elegant and structured wine with nice acidity. The wine has been stored in oak barrels for 12 months, 50 % American oak and 50 % French oak.

Each bottle is adorned by the llama animal, this particular llama variety is called Qawra. This species have previously been used in the Andes as transport animals by the Inca people.

Taste and food pairing: The wine is very fruity and flavorful with hints of oak, black currant, blackberry, chocolate and black pepper. The wine has a nice length and wonderful fruit acidity that makes this Malbec a perfect match for meat such as lamb, beef and game.

Serve at 16-18°C.
